NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -

The Sandhills-Thedford Knights and Paxton Tigers football teams played in the quarterfinals of their respective brackets on Friday night, each team just one win away from the state semifinals.

Sandhills-Thedford was able to keep their undefeated season going and now sits one win away from the state championship game, defeating Pleasanton 50-8. Paxton did not fair as well, facing McCool Junction and looking to build off of last weeks thrilling overtime win. The Tigers offense was kept quiet in the first half, and the 67-12 halftime deficit was too much to overcome, as McCool Junction would win by a final score of 79-20.
