Chef Lalanne’s Canteen Bar and Grille announces its closing
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - After two decades, Chef Lalanne’s Canteen Bar and Grille is closing its doors. The restaurant announced on Monday that they will be closing due to a “constructive eviction”. Constructive eviction is a term used to describe a circumstance in which a landlord either does something or fails to do something that he or she has a legal duty to provide (e.g. the landlord refuses to provide heat or water), rendering the property uninhabitable. It is unclear what specifically that is, and the term was used by The Canteen in their Facebook post.
“We appreciate all of our loyal customers and staff over the years. There’s many memories here for both staff and customers alike,” a restaurant spokesperson said on Facebook.
The Canteen said that they will be offering bottles of liquor, wine, and beer at a discounted price for customers to purchase as they downsize their inventory. They will also have food that is at a discounted price. Individuals with outstanding gift cards can use such credit to purchase said items.
