NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Calling all Americans from North Platte, Nebraska and the surrounding area! The North Platte Downtown Association is blocking off two city blocks to honor veterans on this Veterans Day.

From 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday the association is blocking off 4th Street to 6th Street on Dewey. And this means anyone can bring their flags or music or marching bands - or whatever you have or want to the area to say “Thank you” to veterans. It’s short notice, but since there isn’t a parade this year, this is the solution.

So come out and say thank you to the men and women who helped give us freedom in the United States of America! Veterans please join the event if you can so you can be recognized and thanked.

Everyone please remember social distancing and masks!
