NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Pretty quiet weather is expected over the next few days as sunshine, mild temperatures, and dry conditions will headline the forecast through the end of the work week.

More sunshine and mild weather should head our way by Tuesday afternoon with temperatures well above average in the 60s to near 70° across western Nebraska. Winds could be a touch breezy from the south with sustained winds at 10 to 15 MPH with some wind gusts between 20 and 30 MPH possible.

After a cool start to the morning, Tuesday temperatures will be way above our average for this time of year. Highs will top out in the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies to be seen.

Wednesday will be even warmer and we could see near record high temperatures with highs in the lower to middle 70s across the area with another mainly sunny day. The record high for North Platte is 78° set back in 1908.

Cooler temperatures will begin to move back into the area starting on Friday as highs fall back into the mid and upper 50s with a mix of sun and clouds. Rain and a rain-snow mix are possible late Friday into Saturday and again Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures should cool back for the upcoming weekend, but still remain fairly seasonal with afternoon highs in the mid 40s for both Saturday and Sunday.
