Girl Scouts collect supplies for mothers
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Girl Scouts are taking initiative to support pregnant teens, women and families by obtaining the supplies they need. Nebraska girls and their families are giving back to their communities. They are asking the community to donate diapers, formula and other baby essentials to the women’s resource center on Nov. 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The center is at 209 Mcneel Lane in North Platte. Public Relations Specialist Susan Payne said Girl Scouts is a great way to get involved.
“This is an example of what you can do as a Girl Scout. To take on challenges, to create change in the community, have something that you’re passionate about and take the steps to make change. That is what Girl Scouts are all about,” said Payne.
At the Women’s Resource Center there will be more information on Girl Scouts and how to get involved. You can also learn more on their Facebook page Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska or their website girlscoutsnebraska.org.
