NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A band of light snow developed north and west of North Platte this morning. Total accumulations will likely be fairly modest with most areas less seeing less than an inch and even within the band maybe and inch or two. There are no advisories posted but leave a little extra time in case of slick spots even though the ground remains somewhat warm. The city of North Platte itself will stay mainly dry. Any precipitation should drop off rather abruptly by early afternoon as drier air works its way into the system. Clouds should break up by Tuesday evening. Afternoon highs should make it into the upper 30s but there with be a bit of a north breeze to contend with at 10 to 20 occasionally gusting to near 30 mph.

An upper level ridge build in on Wednesday, helping to warm temperatures back into the lower 50s. Cooler air will arrive Thanksgiving Day dropping temperatures back into the upper 40s but it will be dry with mostly sunny skies. The rest of the holiday weekend will remain quiet with highs in the 40s and 50s.
