NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Hirschfelds is kicking off the holiday season with ornaments and Santa’s workshop coming to town. They welcome the community to place an ornament on the Community Christmas Tree outside of their store. You can hang your own or use an ornament Hirschfelds has donated. They encourage the community to take a photo of themselves hanging their ornament and tag the Hirschfelds Community Christmas Tree event page on Facebook.

“This year a lot of people are finding things being cancelled or not happening and we really wanted to use this opportunity as a small business to really still make something happen and happen in the safest way we possibly could. We really just want the tree to be an opportunity to for everybody to have a chance to do something together this year,” said Hirschfelds’ Manager, Abbie Pack.

Saturday Santa is having a workshop on third floor on Hirschfelds from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At the entrance to his workshop kids can leave a letter for Santa in the mail slot. Both the tree and letter slot will be open until Christmas.
