LEXINGTON, Neb. (KNOP) - Officials are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old male early Saturday morning.

According to the Lexington Police Department, the shooting involved a physical altercation.

The 15-year-old male was taken to Lexington Regional Hospital and pronounced dead, according to Chief of Police, Tracy Wolf.

An arrest warrant was obtained for 18-year-old Ramon Gonzalez Romero, in connection with the shooting. Gonzalez Romero turned himself in to police Saturday afternoon.

All weapons were recovered following a search warrant by police. The investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the 15-year-old victim is being withheld pending family notification.
