NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -Accepting applications for further learning, the Nebraska Corn Growers Association (NeCGA) is awarding five scholarships. Each worth $2,000 thanks to their FLAGship Program.

The program is intended for high school seniors or college freshmen planning to continue their education in the state of Nebraska. Three of the five scholarships are set aside strictly for students pursuing a degree related to agriculture.

The association hopes that this encourages students to seek an education in the agriculture field.

There are a few requirements you must meet in order to apply.

  • You must be a member of NeCGA or a son/daughter of someone who is
  • Submit one letter of recommendation
  • Send in your current resume
  • Have proof that you are continue education in Nebraska

Students are also asked to explain, “how they will be an advocate for agriculture in their future careers as well as what issues they feel the agriculture industry is currently facing.”
