Tips on saving water and money
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Sometimes the best way to save money on that utility bill is doing something as small as shutting off your leaky faucet. A small leak could waste anywhere from a few gallons of water to hundreds of gallons over the course of a year. Ace Hardware staff say with hard water especially it is good to change out cartridges as needed in your faucet.
“Faucets in general it can be replaced anywhere from 20 to 25 years before that you’re probably going to change your cartridges out,” said Associate at Ace Hardware with Plumbing Experience, Gideon Basson.
Ace staff recommend asking for help from plumbers, or their staff on the variety of faucets and cartridges you can purchase for your home. They recommend seeking help on your repairs from a professional.
“Sometimes can be a problem when you have to shut off your water. How do you shut it off and where do you shut it off? Lot of people don’t know. That might be a problem. If you break it, it’s a new one. So to get help from professionals it works pretty good. Come and ask for help, we’re always open to do that,” said Basson.
By investing some time to fix this problem, you wind up saving money.
