NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Phase 1B COVID Vaccinations for the 75 and older community will be held Thursday at the Fox Theatre.

Shannon Vanderheiden with West Central District Health said she is excited about the possibilities as they roll out the vaccine.

“Ending a very tough year of 2020, having the light of vaccine in arms to end that year. Starting the new year off knowing that we’re able to get vaccines in arms is a relief. I’m just so thankful that we have the capacity to put as much vaccine in arms as we had,” said Vanderheiden.

Vanderheiden says Thursday’s vaccinations are for those who have an appointment. Many in the community have come together to make this happen.

“Just a huge thank you to all of our partners. We have partners across our community, city, hospital, school, providers. It has been remarkable the partnerships that we have and we’re so thankful because it truly is going to take every single one of us working together to make this happen,” said Vanderheiden.

The entrance at Fox Theatre will be through Patty Birge doors and signage will lead to the exits. St. Pat’s church is providing a free bus ride from the church to Fox Theater every ten minutes for those who need it. Vanderheiden encourages any of those who do have an appointment to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.
