NP Community Playhouse hosts ‘Canteen Cabaret’
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The ‘Canteen Cabaret’ returns to the North Platte Community Playhouse Saturday.
The cabaret is a virtual performance held once a month where local actors take the stage during a socially distanced performance. Each month focuses on a different theme aimed to lift the spirits of the community.
“One of the first things to close were performing art centers and probably one of the last things to open up again are going to be performing art centers, that’s our business,” said Tyler Cronin, NP Community Playhouse Board Member. “Our business is bringing people together to laugh and to enjoy a performance and that’s hard right now that’s our main industry, our main source of income and we haven’t had that for so long and so it’s been hard for the playhouse.”
The cabaret takes center stage at 7 p.m. on the Playhouse’s Facebook page. Drive-thru concessions are available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Playhouse.
