NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Road trips are always fun especially when you have your four-legged friends with you. But there are many things to keep in mind to ensure a fun and safe trip. Whether you’re traveling an hour away or across the country there are three main things that you do not want to forget on your trip.

  1. your pet’s leash
  2. Their food
  3. A water bowl for in the car.

Another crucial item to bring with you is your pet’s health records because you never know what might happen.

When it comes to car safety, it’s best to put your pet in a kennel to avoid any distractions while driving. You may also buy a seat belt made for dogs. Cats tend to be a little tricky to travel with due to the litter box.

Long road trips are just as hard on our pets as they are on us. Be sure to take lots of breaks to let your pet go potty and stretch their legs. So grab all of your pet supplies along with lots of blankets and take a road trip with your pet.
