St. Pat’s bests Hershey in SPVA rivalry game

The Irish get the better of the Panthers tonight on the basketball court

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The stage was set for a great night of basketball at St. Pat’s. The Irish and the Panthers entered the night with a 1-1 series split on the year for both the boy’s and girl’s teams. The Lady Irish avenged their SPVA tournament loss, beating Hershey tonight by a final score of 41-30. Tonja Heirigs shined again tonight for the green and gold, leading all scorers with 27 points.

The Irish came out strong in the boy’s game as well. After dropping the first meeting of the season to Hershey, St. Pat’s responded with a victory over the Panthers in the SPVA Finals. Tonight, St. Pat’s won the rubber match by twenty points, 59-39 the final. Joseph Heirigs notched his second career double-double, tallying 11 points and 10 rebounds in the winning effort.
