McCook man arrested for December shooting in Palisade

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A Palisade man is lucky to be alive after being shot in his home on December 18, 2020. After an investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), they are announcing they have arrested the man they believe is responsible for the shooting.
36-year old Benjamin Farr of McCook was already in the Red Willow County Jail on unrelated charges when the NSP connected Farr to the shooting of the man last year in Hayes County.
Charges were filed Monday in Hayes County Court following the investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol.
From the NSP Press Release: The investigation began after a shooting was reported at 308 N. Osborn in Palisade, in Hayes County, on December 18, 2020. The Hayes County Sheriff’s Office and Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office both responded to the scene, and requested that the Nebraska State Patrol conduct the investigation into the shooting. The victim was transported to Great Plains Health in North Platte and survived the shooting.
Farr is facing charges of second degree assault, use of deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
During the investigation, investigators have recovered three firearms that are believed to be stolen.
