Lady Broncos win 17th straight, St. Pat’s season comes to an end

The Mullen girl’s basketball team won their District Final tonight, while the Lady Irish left it all on the court but fall short

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Mullen Girl’s Basketball Team has done a lot of winning this year. In fact, The Lady Broncos have only lost twice all season. With tonight’s victory, the team has now won seventeen consecutive games. Mullen’s 63-53 win over Loomis tonight makes them D2-4 District Champs. With the performance, The Lady Broncos have also earned a spot in the State Tournament.

In Hastings, the North Platte Saint Pat’s Lady Irish were facing Elmwood-Murdock in the D1-8 District Final. St. Pat’s dropped a heart breaker to the Lady Knights, 33-30. Tonja Heirigs was the game’s leading scorer with 19 points. Sophomore Mae Siegel played a great game as well. The Lady Irish finish the season 16-9 on the year.
