Cobblestone Inn & Suites ribbon cutting
COZAD, Neb. (KNOP) - Cobblestone Inn and Suites held a ribbon cutting Tuesday afternoon.
The three-story, 54-room hotel was made possible by several local investors. The hotel opened six months ago, but to bring it to the community was a three to four year process.
A feasibility study was conducted in 2016 to determine whether the Dawson County community could support another hotel.
“We’ve been developing hotels in Nebraska for 12 to 13 years now and Cozad is one of those communities that I always drove by going from one Cobblestone market to another and thinking, “boy there seems to be a gap there,” said President of Development Jeremy Griesbach. “All of the hotels here have been around for a while and I though they could really use some new product that would freshen up the market. So I finally stopped into town three to four years ago and talked to some people at the Chamber and at the city and that’s kind of how it started. Fast forward three to four years and here we are.”
Griesbach says business throughout their market is picking up and is hopeful for the spring and summer months, despite the pandemic.
