Maxwell Football’s Dalton Whisenhunt heading to Doane University
The Senior Running Back signed his NLI earlier this afternoon.
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - With family, friends, and coaches in attendance, Maxwell’s Dalton Whisenhunt signed his NLI to play football for Doane University. The Wildcat Senior plans to make an impact in the running back room for the Tigers and he’s wasting no time getting to work.
“I’ll put in a lot of work this summer and just get better, get ready to play. I’m excited. It’s going to be a new experience, which will be good,” said the future Tiger.
While it will be a new experience for Dalton, the Whisenhunt’s are no strangers to Doane. Dalton’s older sister, Dakota, graduated from the university back in 2016 and played a part in recruiting her brother to the Tigers.
“I’m really proud of Dalton. I think he’s going to bring a lot of speed, a lot of experience, and a lot of hard work to the program,” said Dakota of her younger brother.
Doane’s offensive line coach echoed a similar sentiment, praising Dalton’s work ethic and character. One of Whisenhunt’s lineman was in attendance at the ceremony and shed some light on what it’s like blocking for the speedy back.
“He’s really quick. He makes the offensive line’s job easier because he can create his own holes,” said Maxwell senior Kayden Stubbs.
Dalton joins a handful of players from our area set to head East and represent Doane Football next year.
