April ends warmer
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - April will end the way it began....warm. The month began with 3 of the first five days in the 80s with one day in the 90s. Friday we will revist those 80 degree temperatures and then kick off the month of May in the 90s. An upper level ridge of high pressure will heat up what’s left of the week as winds become southwesterly and sunshine is expected. On Saturday, high pressure overhead will bump temperatures further, with lower 90s easily in reach. Fire concerns are on the table with low relative humidity, but the winds should not be particularly strong.
A cold front will slice through the region on Sunday shaving about 25 degrees off of Saturday’s highs. There is a chance of rain showers with isolated thunderstorms Sunday into the middle part of next week. Uncertainty regarding meaningful rainfall lies with an upper low pressure system to the south of Nebraska. This could Shunt moisture away reducing our rain prospects. We’ll keep an eye on it.
