Tuesday Forecast: A bit warmer with more sunshine
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP)- More cooler weather is expected as we head into the day on Tuesday, though it should come with more sunshine and not as much wind compared to our cool, cloudy, and blustery Monday. Sunshine could be short lived though, as our next weather system will begin to slide into the area by Tuesday evening, bringing clouds and perhaps some scattered rain showers back to the area with it, though the chances for rain in North Platte are relatively small for Tuesday evening.
Temperatures should get a boost on Tuesday after spending Monday afternoon in the 50s. Look for afternoon highs in the mid 60s for most of the coverage area with north winds eventually shifting to the south and east at around 10 MPH in the afternoon.
Temperatures over the next few days should hang out in the mid to upper 60s before they reach back to the low 80s on Friday, which should easily be our warmest day of the next week. Another cold front then will sweep through the area bringing cooler temperatures back to the forecast for Mother’s Day weekend. Chances for rain will likely arrive into the day on Wednesday with a few isolated t-storms possible as well. Dry weather is expected for Thursday and most of Friday before more rain chances arrive Friday evening. Mother’s Day weekend plans will need to keep an eye on the forecast over the coming days as more chances for rain are expected on Saturday and Sunday.
