NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Catholic Schools is one of more than 70 non-profits who will benefit from this year’s Giving Day.

Funds from the 24-hour fundraising campaign, will go to benefit the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment-Trust Great Teaching Fund. The fund provides financial support to teachers who are working on a masters degree and advanced certifications.

“This year our high school art instructor Tim O’Neil just completed his masters degree, so next fall he will be able to teach two new classes in art that will be dual credit,” said Wendy Dodson, endowment executive director. “We also got one of our English instructors here at the high school who is working on her degree, so hopefully with the goal of being able to offer some more dual credit in English too.”

The fund has granted 272 teacher requests totaling nearly $125,000 in the last 32 years.
