NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The North Platte Girl’s Soccer Team played well into the evening in their final home game of the season. The Lady Bulldogs hosted Pius X at Bauer Field for the A-4 District Final. With a spot in the State Tournament on the line, North Platte scored fifty two seconds into the contest and never gave up that lead. Sophomore Brooklyn Ayres made an aggressive play in front of the Pius net to disrupt the Thunderbolt’s keeper, leading to the ball finding its way into goal.

Seeking their third consecutive State Tournament appearance, two North Platte Seniors shined bright in front of the home crowd. Gracie Haneborg added a pair of goals in the second half to ensure a victory. The team would only need one goal today though, Abby Orr was brilliant in net for the Lady Bulldogs. Orr made a plethora of diving saves, to keep the Thunderbolts off the board.

The Lady Bulldogs now set their sights on Omaha for the State Tournament, with play scheduled to begin on May 12.
