Tuesday Forecast: More clouds, scattered showers and storms possible
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - More active weather is on tap as we head into the day on Tuesday and beyond as daily chances for showers and thunderstorms continue to headline the forecast.
Into the day on Tuesday, additional scattered showers and t’storms expected into the afternoon and evening. The threat for severe weather should be fairly low for the day on Tuesday, but with the heavy rains we’ve seen recently and the potential for some additional locally heavy rain, some flooding and flash flooding will be possible across the area.
Despite skies remaining mostly cloudy on Tuesday, temperatures will be a bit warmer and closer to seasonal levels by Tuesday afternoon with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. Stronger southeasterly winds will be in part to thank for the warmer temperatures, as they should be sustained at 10 to 15 MPH with some gusts up to 25 MPH possible.
Temperatures will gradually trend warmer through the rest of the week, with highs eventually reaching the lower to middle 80s by late this week and into the weekend.
While temperatures will be warming, chances for rain won’t go anywhere as we’ll continue to see daily chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area through the remainder of the week, this weekend, and even into early next week. It won’t rain all day, everyday and it shouldn’t be a washout any one day across the area, but much like we’ve seen over the past few days, spotty showers and t’storms will be expected with some locally heavy rain possible at times.
Wind will also become more of a concern late this week and into the weekend with breezy conditions expected across the area.
