Teaching tractor safety to teens

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The West Central Research & Extension Center is offering a tractor safety training session on June 9 in North Platte.

The program is for teens aged 14 and 15, and being provided to help older kids with fundamentals concerning safe and efficient use of the large equipment. Extension Educator Randy Saner said that this program was designed for teens that are interested in tractor-related activities, and it helps with insurance, too.

The program will be in person as online. Those attending in North Platte on June 9 will actually get to drive tractors through a course, according to Saner.

To register for the class, follow this link: Extension Center Website . The cost to register is $40. There is an online portion required to be complete by the time the student goes to the in-person class.
