NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -A local Eagle Scout is using his Eagle Scout project to bring happiness to residents of Linden Court. Lathan Welch created a garden in the outdoor meeting space for Linden Court residents and their families. On June 11, a garden dedication was held to commemorate the occasion.

“My dad worked for this place. Plus, my grandma used to be here. I want to bring family members together,” said Organizer Lathan Welch. This place is special right now because of all the work I did. I want them to enjoy how beautiful this place is.”

Welch spent 130 hours planning and working to make his project a success. This project is to become an Eagle Scout so he can acquire new responsibilities.

“This is huge that I am almost done. When everything is finished, I will be a leader assisting other scouts with their projects,” said Welch. “I am appreciative of how my troop supported me. I couldn’t do it without them.”
