NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The 2021 West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game featured several of our area athletes. The East Team was loaded with local students from schools including Brady, Broken Bow, Gothenburg, Medicine Valley, Maywood, and Mullen. The West squad boasted two Ogallala athletes, one of which brought home MVP honors.

The East team captured the first three sets of play, 25-20, 25-14, 25-17. The West team responded, winning the next two sets by final tallies of 25-19 and 15-13. Mullen’s Samantha Moore was named the East Team’s MVP, while Ogallala’s Jenna Curtis brought home the award on the West side.

“It’s a huge accomplishment, I don’t think I could have done it without my West side teammates. They backed me up on everything and it was just so great to have them with me there,” said Curtis.

“It kind of caught me off guard, but I don’t think I could have gotten the MVP award without my teammates. I got perfect sets every single time, perfect passes, it was a team thing,” added Moore.
