NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Kids put on their helmets and sandals for two fun activities in the Canteen District as a part of NEBRASKALand Days.

First off was the bike rodeo where dozens of young ones learned some tips on bicycle safety while also getting to ride through an obstacle course.

Next up was the sand castle building contest. Friends and siblings teamed up to put together the best structure they can. Event organizers handed out bubbles and more to lighten the mood, but the designs were the top things on the kids’ minds.

“I don’t really know what we started off with, but I think we were trying to make a big sand castle,” participant Emma Porter said. “We’re trying to make one right here, like a big one. We’re trying to put an octopus around it and then some seashells.”
