NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The NEBRASKAland Days Quilt Show kicked off Wednesday at its new venue, Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church Spiritual Life Center.

92 quilts from across the state are on display. Each quilt has a card detailing its story and inspiration.

The quilt show is a staple during the two week celebration. Volunteers said they’re excited to have the event at their new venue.

“I did not realize that the parade was this Saturday and so we might have some fun on Saturday, but on the other hand as people are out there waiting for the parade what a great place to come, you know?” said Teresa Smith, Chairman of the Heartland Quilters Guild. “Maybe this is a chance for people who would not make the extra effort to come and look at these quilts to say, “it’s here, it’s cool, might as well come in and look. I’ll bet when they walk out they’re going to have a different idea of what a quilt can be.”

The quilt show continues through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

There is no charge to attend. However, a free will donation is encouraged.
