Renovations underway for Golden Ticket Cinema
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - With construction underway for the Platte River Mall’s redevelopment project, plans to renovate the former AMC movie theater are moving forward.
Golden Ticket Cinema started construction of the movie theater last week, after it sat empty for 18 months.
The six screen movie theater complex will feature recliners and a dine-in concept that will include popcorn, candy, nachos, soda, pizza, pretzels, milkshakes, wings and beer.
Although the movie theater industry was hit hard during the pandemic, Golden Ticket Cinema officials says they’re excited to bring this upscale movie theater experience to the community.
“Like I said, we’ve had this location on our radar for quite sometime and we were excited to come and we’re excited to be here,” said John Bloemeke, Golden Ticket Cinema Owner and CEO. “So I think historically, this theater has performed well and I think that’s what drew us here.”
The theater is expected to open in September. Movie goers will be able to use their AMC refillable popcorn buckets from 2020 and discount Tuesday’s will be back.
