NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - On April 10, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the emergency department at Great Plains Health concerning two small children being treated for a possible drug overdose.

A three-year-old and a six-year-old were reported as being in serious distress at the hospital. The parents of the children were not present at the time, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. A grandparent brought the kids to the hospital.

Later in the day, 27-year-old Emily Martin of Sutherland was arrested for Felony Child Abuse and placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center. Deputies also met with 30-year-old Joshua Holmes of Sutherland. Holmes lives with Martin in Sutherland.
