OMAHA, Neb. (KNOP) - Two weeks after crashing head-on with a truck while responding to a fire, Phelps County Emergency Manager Justin Norris has been released from CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center.

The crash on April 7 eight miles north of Arapahoe killed Darren Krull, Chief of the Elwood Volunteer Fire Department, a passenger in Norris’ vehicle.

Norris was taken to a hospital in Kearney before being flown to Omaha. Norris’ sister, Jami Swanson, said he had multiple fractures in his hips, legs, pelvis and spine and underwent several surgeries.

On Thursday, Norris was moved to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha where he faces a long recovery process.
