Mild and mostly sunny Monday; Warmer the majority of the week
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.(KNEP)- After a windy and cool weekend, conditions will become mild and remaining dry for our Monday with a quick rebound in temperatures for the majority of the workweek.
During the morning Monday, temperatures were in the mid 20s to low 30s with sunny to mostly sunny conditions with winds around 5 to 15 mph and direction of the winds were out of the north and west. Dew points were in the 20s, making our airmass feel dry. The reason why we are seeing this is because we are dealing with an area of high pressure to our south and west, giving us these cool and calm conditions.
During the day on Monday, temperatures will be climbing in the upper 50s to low 60s with mostly sunny conditions and winds will remain light around 5 to 15 mph and the direction of the winds will start out of the north and west and then shift towards the north and east during the late afternoon hours. During the overnight hours, our conditions will start to change with our area of high pressure moving towards the east, and this will allow for overnight lows to be warmer than Monday morning with the lows being in the 30s, and for the winds to start shifting out of the south. For the rest of the week, temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to low 80s with dry conditions continuing and the winds will be on the increase for Tuesday, wih winds around 15 to 25 mph and the risks for fires will be on the increase Tuesday.
Once we get into our Friday, a new cold front and area of low pressure will be moving into the state and provide us with some well needed rainfall across the area and the rain will linger into our Saturday. This potential will be monitored throughout the rest of the week.
