Jan Ryherd is a meteorologist for the NBC Nebraska weather team.
Jan hails from Webster City, Iowa and earned her Bachelors in Meteorology from Iowa State University in 2017, where she met her husband, Andrew. At Iowa State, she was an active member of the student AMS Chapter and the Central Iowa NWA chapter.
She was also active in the school's weather broadcast, Cy's Eyes on the Skies, which she was a producer for her junior and senior years. While in college, Jan had internships in Minneapolis, MN, Duluth, MN, and Des Moines, Iowa.
Jan fell in love with the dramatic and ever-changing weather of Iowa at a young age and loves that her job keeps her on her toes as it is never the same.
In her free time, Jan enjoys spending her time outdoors, cooking and baking, or cheering on her Cyclones!
