Patrick Johnstone joined the NBC Nebraska News 2 Team in September 2018 as a reporter. Now he's the Sports Director.

Patrick comes to North Platte from Long Island, NY. He graduated from Temple University in May of 2017 with a degree in journalism and a minor in sports management.

The first time Patrick realized he had a passion for broadcasting was when he was 15-years-old. Patrick took a journalism class on the weekends at a local university, and after his first time on camera, he knew he wanted to do it again.

At Temple, Patrick was a reporter and anchor for the school's student-run sports show, OwlSports Update. He also was a member of the Temple club ice hockey broadcast team, and worked as a tour guide for all four of his years at school.

Most recently, Patrick interned for his hometown New York Islanders, of the National Hockey League, where he assisted in the production of video content for social media.

When he's not working, Patrick enjoys watching and playing sports, and just being active.

North Platte is different from the beaches of Long Island, and the hustle and bustle of nearby New York City, but Patrick is excited to start a new chapter of his life and explore all North Platte has to offer.

Feel free to reach out to Patrick for questions, comments, or story ideas!
