North Platte Jazzercise class celebrates an exercise programs legacy

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) Local exercise facility celebrated 50 years of Jazzercise Saturday morning in North Platte with a special "Legacy Class." The local Jazzercise instructors say the program has been in the city for 39 years.

The Jazzercise company created a “Legacy Class” with music that reflects its program history to share with its students around this world. In North Platte, six instructors took to the stage to stretch, sweat, and strengthen, plus celebrate an exercise program that still going strong.

Instructor Cathy Hinrichsen says there was a combined 72 years of teaching experience on the stage Saturday. She’s been teaching for 23 years, and started the program as a participate when she was just 8.

Hinrichsen says, “This is such a great program and it gives me so much friendship and joy every single day. I cannot tell you how much it means to me .”

The Jazzercise program was created by Judy Shepphard Missett to help people feel good about themselves and dance just for fun. Jazzercise attributes of success to fresh dance routines and say their participants never get bored.
