Elf on the Shelf is a popular holiday tradition, as most parents are aware. They could have taken the day off, as the elf made a special appearance.
Lincoln Elementary's principle, Mrs. Pam Barker, dressed up as an elf and climbed up onto the roof.
"Basically, it was going along with the "Elf on the Shelf" or in our case, the Elf on the Roof to help encourage kids to do what is right even when no one is watching." said Mrs. Barker.
The skies were gray, and the weather was chilly while kids walked, but Mrs. Barker helped keep everyone's spirits up. "This can be a difficult time of year because the students are excited and this was just a fun way to remind them to always do what is best. "
However, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy doing the right thing. "This is just one opportunity to start our day with a little fun."
Staff at Lincoln Elementary want their students to embrace coming to school and doing their best. They encourage students to be responsible and do what needs to be done.
The kids will have something else to look forward to. Kacey Sell, Building Secretary, says Principle Barker will also be dressing up next week.
