Ariel Quiroga purchased Alive Outside from the previous owners, Diane Scollin and Allen Miles in March, after learning they wanted to get out of the business.

Quiroga says one of the main reasons he and his business partners took the risk is due to the importance of shopping local.

"It's been part of the community for so long that when I found out it was going to close I actually got sad," Quiroga said. "So I thought why would we go out and do our thing when we can come back in and take over what's already here and what's already built, already good, and great?"

Quiroga says while the main emphasis are still bikes and fitness equipment, the merchandise will change according to each season, such as adding kayaks and hunting equipment.

Black Friday specials continue through Saturday.

Business hours are Monday through Friday 10 am to 6 pm. 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday's.
