Across the state, train tracks felt the affects of Monday night's flooding. Majorly delaying Amtrak passenger trains through Tuesday afternoon.

Locally, one train was delayed at the McCook station. Floodwaters washed out parts of the track between there and Holdrege.

Passengers waited outside all morning in the sunshine.

A Wisconsin man says he takes the Amtrak often and hasn't run into a delay like this before. But he didn't let that ruin his spirits.

"I try to travel Amtrak as often as I can. It's a hold up, but I'm not in that big of a hurry to get home now. The crews been nice to us and try to keep us as informed as best as they can," said passenger Shane Mooney.

Amtrak Alerts did tweet that the California Zephyr Train 6 left McCook at close to 1 pm Tuesday afternoon, being delayed in total by 12 hours.
