Annual herb market returns to PAC

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Spring is in full bloom at the Prairie Arts Center.

The Creativity Unlimited Arts Council is hosting their annual herb market.

It's been a local favorite for the past ten years.

Fourteen variety of herbs and two different types of geraniums as well as crafts, knickknacks and home baked goods are for sale.

The fundraiser is used for ongoing improvement projects at the arts center.

"More people are using herbs than they have in the past, so they're more familiar with them and they know how to use them," said Creativity Unlimited Arts Council Volunteer Cheri Erickson. "Many times they will say what do you do with this herb? Ruth knows everything about the herbs so she can make suggestions and she can give you ideas."

The event continues Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.

A hand-painted bench by local artist Holly Carlini is also being raffled.

You do not need to be present to win. However, volunteers ask that you answer your phone when the raffled is held at 1:30 pm tomorrow.
