Director of the Arnold Economic Development Corporation Cheryl Carson found a post from HGTV asking applicants to apply to have renovations done to the entire town.
Carson and others within the community filled out the application and sent in a video showcasing Arnold.
Carson said the overall vision is to become a popular stop along the busy highway.
"I think sitting on highway 92 brings a lot of people through our community and that's an opportunity for tourism," said Carson.
"I think when your community is appealing visually and has that interest, it's much easier to get people off of the highway, out of their cars and into your businesses."
Many store owners have invested a lot of time and money into their businesses, Carson explained the approval of their application would help to continue that momentum.
"I think this would be a really great opportunity for our community to have that assistance. It's more of a hand up, not a handout," said Carson.
