BNSF investigates coal train collision

ANTIOCH, Neb. KNOP-TV Train crews with Burlington Northern Santa Fe were uninjured after two coal trains collided Friday night.

Two Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway coal trains were involved in a collision Friday night.

It happened just west Antioch just at around 11 p.m.

BNSF Railway Spokesperson Andy Williams says both trains were westbound on their way to Wyoming.

He says one of the trains was stationary when the other train was slowing down to a stop and struck the rear of the train.

Both of the cars came off track.

Crews with Hulcher Services lifted the empty cars and put them back on the track.

All 130 coal cars were empty.
