Banner Health achieves accreditation status by the Joint Commission

Banner Health Community Hospital in Ogallala was notified last week they have achieved accrediation status by the Joint Commission.

The program awards hospitals for improving their accountability measure performance.

Banner Health is the second critical access hospital in Nebraska to achieve this status.

"They have over four thousand standards of care that they assess when they come into your facility,," said Banner Health Chief Nursing Officer. "So being able to say every single time that we follow standards, safety and quality of care for every single patient is really why we wanted to do it."

In total, there are only sixty-four critical access hospitals in Nebraska.
