North Platte, Neb. (KNOP) - The Lincoln County Boards of Commissioners and of Equalization chose Joseph Hewgley as Chairman, and Bill J. Henry as Vice Chairman.
At 9:15 a.m. on Monday, the board members motioned for veteran board member Hewgley to be named chair. The motioned was seconded and the vote was unanimous.
The procedure was repeated for Henry.
Joseph Hewgley says this is his 32nd year in a role similar to this.
The Board of Commissioners and the Board of Equalization are two separate Lincoln County Boards. The member count increased this year after a vote to increase the number of three to five board members.
This meeting was the fourth as an increased board, with Hewgley, Henry, Walt Johnson and Jerry Woodruff in attendance. It was the first meeting for all five members, as Kent Weams was present for his first meeting since being sworn in on January 3, 2019.
Hewgley presented the other members with committee suggestions for the coming year. They will meet again to discuss committee appointments at the re-organizational meeting on January 14, 2019/
