NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP-TV The Lincoln County Commissioners are seeking bids to repair a county bridge near O'Fallons Road.
The board has looked into repairing it for the past five to six years.
The small timber bridge was selected for repairs under the State's Transportation Innovation Act.
Commissioners say the bill will provide matching funds to repair it.
"The bridge has to be over 20 feet and has to be structurally deficient or be getting close to structurally deficient and this bridge is," said Lincoln County Commissioner Joe Hewgley. "I think what we're going to do is replace an old timber bridge with three culverts. There is is not a lot of water that goes through there but three culverts will certainly allow whatever water flow might come down through there."
The board hopes to receive at least three competitive bids from local engineers before bids are finalized towards the end of March.
