NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) The Salvation Army set up their "Stuff The Bus" salvation at Walmart on Saturday to collect donations.

The collected school supplies will be distributed to kids grades K through 12, and the Peters family is helping to spread the wealth.

"Starting the first day of school with new stuff that's your own really gets kids off on the right foot," said Jamie Peters. "There's no division of classes and they don't feel less than and they're confident in their ability to get going that first day."

Families pre-registered with The Salvation Army will get first pick and all remaining supplies will be distributed to local community schools.
