High School Actors are leaving it all on the stage Monday at North Platte High School. Things were thrown, tears were shed, and victories were danced throughout their shows. Various schools practiced for months to get be the team that gets first from the judges and go on to state.
Students at Arnold rehearsed for two hours every day for their performance of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. They received first place and will be performing at state next week in Norfolk.
Landyn Cole, a junior at Arnold High School who played Esmerelda loves the quality time they spend.
"It's amazing. It's just so fun to get a group of friends together, rehearse every day, we have fun, we laugh. We just, we don't take it too seriously. It's a really fun atmosphere and experience," said Cole.
Energy was high as students warmed up for their time to shine. Excitement filled North Platte high school as students put their all into their shows, and became closer as friends.
"It brings us closer together, we really create a lot of bonds through this. Through the characters, and getting to be with each other so often," said Cole.
Everyone involved felt pride in what they were doing and enjoyed the day.
