COZAD, Neb. KNOP-TV The pandemic has forced school districts across the country to get creative and show their support to students and staff during these unprecedented times.
The graduation ceremony for Cozad High School seniors was supposed to be held Saturday, but due to directive health measures and social distancing guidelines, the ceremony was postponed.
However, that still didn't stop parents from honoring their graduates in a special way.
They organized a Cruise Night for the Class of 2020 Saturday where seniors drove through neighborhoods and the downtown area in a parade-like fashion.
The event was escorted by the Cozad Fire Department.
Fortunately, the rain stopped just in tim for the event, which lasted for about two hours.
NBC Nebraska News 2 wants to clarify, the school district had no involvement with the event. It was strictly organized by the parents of the graduating seniors.
