COZAD, Neb. (KNOP) - The Cozad Jaycees, a volunteer organization, held their Annual Cake and Silent Auction Thursday. Folks browsed a large selection of treats and goodies donated by local community members to help a good cause.

Over 140 items were auctioned for a selected organization in the city. The Jaycees donate to a different organization in Cozad every year. This year, all of the proceeds are going to Camp Comeca and Retreat Center, a local church camp that is valuable to the city.

Officials say the community support is amazing. Cozad Jaycee member Lindsay Erickson said, "I love this event. I love seeing the support that we have from the community and the businesses. And it's great to feel the way we can give back to the different organizations and help them out."

The annual auction usually generates $3,000 to $4,500 thousand dollars and the Cozad Jaycees expect to meet that amount this year.
