Kids Klub hosts Canteen Pancake Feed

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP Communities across the state are coming together to honor our veterans.

The festivities began with a hearty pancake breakfast.

It was hosted by North Platte Public School's Kids Klub, Kiwannis Club, North Platte High School Key Club, and the D&N Event Center as a way to say "thank you" to those who have sacrificed so much.

One local Vietnam veteran says he wouldn't have it any other way.

"I think what I gained from being in the Navy service is the basic foundation that helped me go to college when I got back and go on and study hard and get my certificate for being a CPA, "said Dennis Miller. "So I am a CPA today and I thank a lot of that to the Navy service for all of that."

The donations from Friday's meal will go towards making care packages for veterans who are in need.
