Canteen supports community with soup
Everybody is doing their part to help the community through these uncertain times. The Canteen Bar and Grill has started pitching in with soup. They will be serving soup from 11:30 to 1 every day with a free will donation cost of three dollars.
Their soups will change daily, first come first serve until they are out. While soup is three dollars per portion they ask that you pay what you can.
Melissa Bowers, the Supervisor at Canteen says they just want to help how they can.
"We wanted to basically just help out the community everybody's going through a really tough time right now and the best way we know how is to put out some good food," said Bowers.
While the dining area is closed they are still open for take out and delivery. They say that they hope this will help those struggling right now.
"But for like the single moms the single dads that have lost their jobs, we just want to help them out. I mean to help out more people that is what the Canteen North Platte is all about and we're lucky enough to have part of that name so we just want to give back to the community as long as we can," said Bowers.
If they have any leftover they will set it out again from 5-8 when they do their regular curbside deliveries. They will be doing this as long as they can in hopes it can help some people in the community out.
